Billing Engineer

The BRM Engineer will focus on implementing and supporting billing system functionality, initially pricing.

Database Administrator

The Database Administrator will perform the duties for DB Architecture, daily maintenance, monitoring,performance analysis/tuning, problem troubleshooting and resolution, backup and recovery, audits, upgrades, migrations, implementation of best practices, and user assistance required of Oracle, MS SQL & MySQL database environments. The environment is both transaction and ERP based requiring a high degree of experience with OLTP and Data Warehousing.

This person will work cross functionally with a variety of internal IT organizations, systems administrators/engineers, developers, outside consultants and the management team in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment. The DBA will participate in Information Technology projects as the primary database administrator from inception of a project through the daily maintenance phases. The DBA will be required to spend his/her time focused on Database Server administration and will be responsible for design, architecture, approval, deployment of changes, and 24x7 support to all production databases.

Duties will also include contributing to other technology projects requiring programming/DBA expertise. This person needs to be able to work independently without significant supervision and must be a team-oriented individual with a results driven attitude and must have the willingness to roll up their sleeves and dive right in.

Director of Business Development, EMEA

The Director of Business Development EMEA will be responsible for all business development, account management and sales of Boingo throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa.The Director will be Boingo's main representative and point of contact in EMEA. The Director's main responsibilities will be: (i) completing new roaming agreements with Wi-Fi "hot spot operators" (HSOs), Wi-Fi mesh municipal network operators and telecom companies throughout EMEA; (ii) managing and expanding existing roaming relationships with HSOs and telecom companies in EMEA; (iii) completing channel partnership agreements with existing and new HSOs; (iv) supporting sales teams for Platform Services agreements wholesaling software and network access to EMEA based telecom carriers.

The Director's main responsibility will be to expand the Boingo roaming footprint throughout this region with particular focus on hot spots in locations and areas business travelers frequent such as airports, hotels, and convention centers as well as city-wide networks.The Director will be expected to identify those HSOs most relevant to Boingo and its carrier partners, foster a relationship with these operators and negotiate roaming contracts in the most expeditious and cost effective manner.The Director will be expected to maintain, develop and expand the existing roaming agreements that Boingo has in place with HSOs. This individual shall also be responsible for other business development activities such as identifying and negotiating potential owned and operated footprint opportunities, working through certification agreements with Wi-Fi hardware and OEM vendors and setting up channel relationships that facilitate software licensing and additional network deals.

In addition, the Director will be responsible for reporting functions including providing prioritization schedules for strategic roaming deals and estimating timelines for completing such deals.The Director will be expected to be able to interface comfortably with senior management internally and with external partners

Engineering Project Manager, EMEA

The Engineering Project Manager (EPM) EMEA is responsible for the daily direction/ management/oversight of all programmatic activities, tasks, obligations, etc. that pertain to Agreements/Contracts made between Boingo and Airport host agencies, Wireless Carriers, Subcontractors, and others as directed by the VP of Operations. This position also provides direct wireless engineering technical support for design, installation, test, turn-up, documentation, problem solving and correction of wireless systems (cellular, PCS, WLAN, Land-Mobile radio, etc) in Boingo's EMEA markets.

The EPM EMEA supports the evolution of Project Plans that identify and establish project/design goals, schedules, budgets, milestones, implementation methodologies, risk mitigation, contingency plans, points-of-contact, up-scope potential, and potential subcontractors.The EPM EMEA is also responsible for adhering to the Project Plans and ensuring a smooth transition from the implementation phase to the operations phase.In this capacity, the EPM EMEA will ensure systems are deployed in manner to minimize operational and maintenance costs.The EPM EMEA serves as the main point-of-contact for all organizations participating within the assigned program/project.

This position requires a vast and diversified skill set that involves:wireless engineering expertise, contract and financial knowledge, project management experience, a professional and approachable demeanor, ability to manage subcontractors and union labor, knowledge of telecommunications and/or RF distribution systems, availability on a 24-hr basis, ability to work across various functional boundaries.

This position will require travel to:

  • the various airports in which Boingo provides WLAN services currently including Heathrow, Gatwick, South Hampton, Stansted, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and Zurich.
  • the areas outside of the United Kingdom (e.g. US, Asia, Africa, etc.) as well.


Located in Boingo's new London Heathrow-based office, this individual will be a key member of Boingo's Owned and Operated Operations team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide network engineering and project management support for Boingo's current and future wireless systems projects and wireless networks.
  • Review executed Host Agency contracts, carrier agreements, subcontracts, etc.
  • Creation and upkeep/management of in-house technical documentation packages for distribution to venues and for record
  • Conduct on-site implementation and operations work in accordance with Agreements, Contracts and Project Plans
  • Work directly with host facility representatives to establish and maintain cooperative relationships
  • Work directly with Boingo's Business Development Manager EMEA to support current and future business opportunities
  • Support the discovery, review, and evaluation of all potential service sub-contractors
  • Provide hands-on technical support for Network Operations personnel in the resolution of problems on existing networks
  • Other technical support to assist the network engineering team with the timely completion of new builds
  • Coordinate site access, subcontract necessary security firms, and obtain airport security access badges

The Quality Assurance team is an integral part of the software delivery process at Boingo Wireless. Senior Business Objects Developer

The Senior Business Objects Developer will concentrate on developing, creating and maintaining Boingo’s current Business Objects environment. Senior Client Software Developer

The Senior Client Software Developer has the exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is developing a Wi-Fi SDK and client applications for widespread adoption.   • Work closely with our Client Development teams on developing automation for software development kits for various platforms. (Windows. Linux, Mac OS, Symbian, Windows Mobile, iPhone and other embedded devices)
  • Ability to help create, influence and lead the software test automation strategy for client products
  • Participate in project meetings and provide feedback on all requirements and design documents
  • Design, develop, write and maintain test plans/test scripts from product requirements and design documents
  • Perform test plan reviews with project team members
  • Provide detailed project status reports and effective bug reports to isolate critical issues in software development
  • Provide resource estimates of testing efforts to support project planning
  • Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software
  • Maintain testing documentation for the creation of automation scripts.Will assist in executing automation scripts
  • Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommend corrective action
  • Consult with development engineers in resolution of issues
  • Contribute to automation efforts to facilitate the testing of software development kits and various platform client releases

Requirements:

  • BS in computer science or related major
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with C++ and other programming experience
  • Possess knowledge of the tools and techniques used in testing software development kits; primary focus will be writing “code that tests other code” for testing our SDK products
  • Direct experience writing test automation software on two or more projects
  • 1-2 years of software development and test experience with at least one year focused experience in developing test software in a Windows or Linux environment
  • Experience in networking technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP)
  • Experience in following a formal SDLC / QA SOP process and capable of performing best practices
  • Experience with cross platform development
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and show multi-tasking skills
  • Must be highly motivated with the ability to work independently as well as be a strong team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to haves:

  • Working/worked in ISP companies
  • Knowledge of Wi-Fi networks
  • Experience in working with SQL (Oracle, MySQL)
  • Experience in SilkTest or other commericial test tools
  • Experience in testing device-based software (Symbian, Windows Mobile, and Linux)
  • Experience in creating, updating and manipulate XML data
